These two obviously forgot their catechism

"Two former employees of Holy Family Parish and School in Hicksville are accused of taking more than a half-million dollars by giving themselves unauthorized paychecks and ringing up charges on the parish's credit card, police said Friday.

Joseph Cavaco, of Wading River, and Anthony Fusaro, of Hampton Bays, both 61, were arrested on charges of grand larceny."

The article does not mention it, but the pastor Msgr. Robert Batule had just recently arrived at this parish in October 2004. This parish is not a wealthy one and could use that $500,000 to beautify their Church, which is the single most bizarre one I have ever seen. It looks like a renovated barn with a bunch of doors down one side, and the sanctuary in the corner of an "L". Msgr. Batule is a pleasant, orthodox priest and this parish is lucky to have him as their pastor. It is good to see the Diocese doing its job and auditing the parishes for stuff like this.
